Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi (Police Entering his House)

Today police searched the  house and masjid of Islamic Scholar Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi in Lahore on the night between Friday and Saturday, 16-July-2016. The pictures surfacing on social media show they disgraced the Islamic books. The police forced into his home and harassed his family members. This use of state power seems completely unnecessary at this moment and I feel sorry for such a treatment to a very respected scholar who is also an aged and disabled person. His only crime seems to be his call to protect the 295C law and enforcing it by hanging of blasphemers who have been sentenced after due judicial process, including Asia Masih. The police failed to arrest Dr. Tahir Ul Qadri and Imran Khan despite high treason charges and arrest warrants but forgot manners to behave nicely with a scholarly figure. To record the protest a Dharna (Sit-In) started on Saturday in Lahore before the Punjab Provincial Assembly Hall.

Lahore Dharna

Later Updates:

To resolve the sit-in, a meeting was called in the chief minister house, Lahore. Allama Khadim Hussain addressed a minister from the government side and reminded him that he was with them in 2006 to fight for the cause of righteousness but now turned his back for few coins. By sarcasm he asked them to take down the picture of Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the meeting room. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was one of most respectable figure among the English rulers and the Hindus alike but choose to defend the case of Ghazi Ilam-Ud-Din Shaheed who killed the blasphemer publisher Rajpal. On the contrary these people stood up with blasphemer and killed the beloved of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him), referring to the martyrdom of Ghazi Mumtaz Qadri Shaheed. Allama Khadim Hussain refused to drink or eat the presented food and later said that he would not have drank a drop of water offered by them even if I were to die of the thirst.

Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi told in a later public meeting that he is not afraid of these lowly tactics of the government. He informed that his library was disparaged by throwing books around. His fourteen years old son was severely beaten. He was held on gun point and it took many days to heal the mark of gun’s pressure against his chest. The police asked him from where does his father get all the money? He answered, “From Allah”. They responded, “Then why does’t Allah give this much money to us?”.  “Have you ever seen your face?”, was the defiant answer. It is worth noting that Molana Khadim Hussain Rizvi was an employee of the Auqaf department of religious affairs. His many decades of service was terminated on account of his support for Mumtaz Qadri because he justified his act of slaying Salman Taseer, the blasphemer. Allama Khadim refused to beg for his service restoration or any other kind of help from the officials who were part of the judicial murder of Mumtaz Qadri. Police “discovered” a bottle of olive oil from his house and lied to Khadim Sahib’s eight year old daughter that this is alcohol and that her father is an alcoholic. Such is the list of shameful acts that were committed in his home while he was delivering a sermon elsewhere in Lahore. Allam Sahib said that he is available for queries concerning  the source of income or any other matter. His children, though ready to sacrifice in the way of righteousness, should by no means need be involved in such matters. I felt only grief for such treatment. Hope no such matter is repeated in future.

The Masjid Rehmat Ul Lill Alameen where the sad incident took place and also Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi offer Jumma prayer is near Grand Battery Stop, Multan Road, Lahore.
